SaVion Harris was a key member of the turnaround season at Iowa Central two years ago.
Now, he is helping UTSA do the same at the FBS level.
Harris and the Roadrunners relied on their defense to post a 24-10 victory over Stephen F. Austin this past weekend. The 6-foot, redshirt senior safety from Sacramento had five tackles on the night.
With the Tritons, Harris had 60 tackles and broke up six passes, helping them win eight games including the Graphic Edge Bowl. He spent a redshirt season at Florida Atlantic before joining the Iowa Central program.
Last year, Harris recorded 38 tackles with an interception and three pass breakups for UTSA, which is now 2-0 and faces Middle Tennessee Friday night.
