Former Triton leads North Alabama Vs. BYU

Blake Dever faced several high-level defenses during his career at Iowa Central.

He will be taking on a beast completely different this Saturday.

Dever and North Alabama take on eighth-ranked BYU led by Heisman Trophy candidate Zach Wilson in Provo, Utah. The game kicks off at 3 p.m. Iowa time and streams live on ESPN3.

Dever enters having completed 46 of 65 passes for 383 yards with a touchdown in three games for North Alabama. The school has won 17 conference championships, three national titles and made 21 NCAA playoff appearances in 72 years.

This marks the first time that the Lions have played a nationally-ranked FBS program in the Cougars, who are 8-0.

Dever, a redshirt senior, completed 158 of 254 passes for 1,893 yards and 17 touchdowns in his lone season for the Tritons. He threw for 202 yards earlier this year vs. Jacksonville State.

Last year, Dever threw for 429 yards in four games for North Alabama.
