Iowa Central men's basketball traveled to Marshalltown on Monday night to take on Marshalltown Community College. A lay-up at the buzzer proved to be the difference as Marshalltown beat Iowa Central 77-75. Iowa Central was holding a 75-70 lead with under a minute to go in the game but couldn't get a key defensive stops and make late game free throws. "We played well enough to win except from the free throw line. That has been our achilles heel all year. We can't make free throws when it counts. To get beat at the buzzer hurts especially when we had opportunities to put the game away." Said Dennis Pilcher, Iowa Central head coach.
With the lost, Iowa Central is now 6-3 overall and will host The Great Western Shootout this weekend. Iowa Central will play North Dakota State College of Science on Friday and Northeast, NE on Saturday. "We need to move on and get ready for this weekend. We have two tough games again." Said Pilcher
