AMES - Kelly Boleyn finished up her fall schedule for Iowa Central with a Top-12 finish here Monday at the DMACC Invitational.
The event was held at the Ames Golf and Country Club.
Iowa Western's Seira Kubo was medalist with an 80. Boleyn fired an 88 to tie for 12th with golfers from Simpson and Central.
"This was a great fall for Kelly," said Iowa Central head coach Kris Graewin. "She has put in a lot of hard work over the past year and it really showed this fall. She's got a lot of determination and drive that has helped get her to where she is right now. She didn't have her best day out there Monday but she kept battling in the extremely windy conditions. She's done everything that I've asked of her and I couldn't be happier with the way she is progressing towards the spring.
"I think she has a real opportunity to be a strong player at our Regional event in late April."
The Triton men fired a team score of 315 to finish seventh. Iowa Western was first with a 286.
"It was a rough day for our men," Graewin said. "We are still making way too many bad mistakes. The worst part is the mistakes are coming from some of our experienced players. We've got a lot of work to do before we get back at it Sunday at the Quad Cup at Coldwater Golf Links. The Quad Cup is a great event that was started just before I got here and is one of my favorite and the athlete's favorite events. I'm extremely anxious to get back out on the course and get this awful round out of our heads."
