After a three-day campus closure due to subzero temps, Iowa Central (12-8, 3-4 ICCAC) will hit the road to take on Iowa Lakes (17-5, 5-3 ICCAC) on Saturday, February 2 at 1:00PM. Iowa Central currently sits in 5th place in the ICCAC standings at the midway point of conference play. Iowa Lakes captured a 64-49 victory over the Tritons last month in Fort Dodge.
Last Time Out: The Tritons will look to return to the win column after losing a tightly contested battle to the DMACC Bears last weekend in Fort Dodge. The Tritons were outscored 19-10 in the fourth quarter and fell to the Bears 80-72 despite Tierra Itula, Avery Terwilliger, and Brittany West scoring in double figures.
The Lakers were upended by the NIACC Trojans last night 99-70. The Lakers committed 28 turnovers and went cold at the charity stripe going 10-29 on the night. The Lakers were led in scoring by Breanna Wendland and Samantha Hagedorn who scored 18 and 17 respectively.
Up Next: Iowa Central will play their rescheduled match against the Southwestern Spartans on Monday, February 4 at 5:30PM in Creston, IA. The subzero temperatures that have affected the Midwest forced the ICCAC programs to postpone their regularly scheduled Wednesday games. The Spartans are led by Bryan Austin. The Spartans are led in scoring by Madelyn Moya, C'Anne Hunter, and Tina Lair-Van Meter. As a program, Southwestern CC is shooting 37.2% from the floor and they aim to pull in 46.7 rebounds per game. The Tritons will return to Hodges Fieldhouse on Wednesday, February 6 when they host the NIACC Trojans at 5:30PM.
