FORT DODGE – Iowa Central women's soccer team beat Hawkeye Community College 4-2 at Harlan Rogers this past Saturday. The Tritons took a 3-0 lead before the Redtails clawed a couple back. The Tritons sealed the 4-2 win with 3 minutes left on the clock.
The first goal for Iowa Central was scored by Nicole Wenzl off a penalty kick.
The fourth was scored by Caldas who was assisted by Nara Costa.
"We came out very strong in the first 70 minutes but we ended up taking our foot off the gas a little. However, under the pressure the girls grabbed another goal to see the game out. Now we must learn to put together a full 90 minutes as we saw what can happen if we do not", said head coach Jared Beauchamp.
Iowa Central is back in action when they travel to Council Bluffs to take on Iowa Western at 4:00pm Tuesday afternoon.
