The Tritons opened up at home tonight with a triangular with Western Technical College and Briar Cliff University JV. First up was Western Tech. After a 90 minute late start due to bus troubles from WTC, the Tritons tried to make up lost time, finishing the Cavaliers in record time, 25-6, 25-16, 25-9. Kayla Faldet had a stellar match with 10 kills on .600 efficiency along with 4 blocks. Gabby Sullivan and Hannah Murray chipped in 7 kills while Abby Lohrmann had 21 assists. The Tritons reeled off 20 services aces over the match with Liza Hatcher leading with 7 and Emily Nelson with 4. Emily Nelson led the backcourt with 22 digs. Michele O'Haver chipped in 12 digs while Abby Lohrmann had 11.
The second match for the Tritons was against BCU JV. Abby Lohrmann led a very balanced attack, spreading out her 26 assists equally between the hitters. Libby Zorn and Gabby Sullivan led all attackers with 8 kills each, while Kayla Faldet and Hannah Murray chipped in 6. Michele O'Haver led the defense with 16 digs while Kryssie Okinaka added 13. Kayla Faldet led the defense at the net with 5 blocks, Sullivan added 3, and Lexi Green had 2. The Tritons are now 8-0 on the year.
The Tritons return to action Wednesday with a home conference match vs. Southwestern CC at 7pm.
