BURLINGTON - No. 1 Iowa Central took care of another ICCAC opponent here Wednesday night, sweeping Southeastern to move one step closer to a fourth consecutive regular season title.
Scores were 25-14, 25-19 and 25-18.
The Tritons (32-0 overall, 7-0 in league) have two remaining league dates left, hosting Northeast next Wednesday before closing with North Iowa Area on the road October 27. They are currently a game ahead of the rest of the ICCAC and hold tiebreakers over those schools.
"It was a good win against a good SECC team," Iowa Central head coach Sara Horn said. "They're still in the running for a Top-4 finish, so this puts us really close to clinching another conference championship.
"Our JV team started the night off with a straight sets win so it was great to get two sweeps and get back on the road so we can prepare for a big weekend."
Katilyn Steffes recorded a match-high 16 kills, adding five digs to lead the way for Iowa Central. Brooke Dobson had seven kills and two block assists, Jori Hajek added six kills, 12 digs, three aces, while Baylyn Johnson had 13 digs.
Alesha Johnson directed the attack with 26 assists to go along with eight digs, two blocka ssists, two aces and a pair of kills. Angel Baylark had four kills, a solo block and four block assists, Haley Alharithy four kills, two block assists and a solo block, and Bailey Dugan nine digs.
Iowa Central will host a two-day tournament beginning Friday inside Hodges Fieldhouse, playing North Iowa Area at 2:45 p.m. and Carl Sandburg at 6:15 p.m. On Saturday, the Tritons meet second-ranked Cowley County at 11:15 a.m. before wrapping up play vs. Central-Columbus at 1 p.m.
