The Triton Cross Country teams took 3rd place in both the men's and women's races at the Hawkeye Invitational in Iowa City this past weekend. Iowa Central was the only 2 year school competing against D1 programs including Iowa State, Iowa, Northern Iowa, Illinois State, and Drake. The Triton women finished third with 85 points, behind winners Iowa State (24 points) and U of Iowa (56 points). The Triton men also finished third with 73 points behind winner Iowa State (15 points) and U of Iowa (63 points).
Scoring runners for the Triton women were Abeba Sullivan in 7th place (14:38.5), Winrose Chesang in 9th place (14:42.3), Marion Bartilol in 13th place (14:49.9), Florance Uwajeneza in 26th place (15:18.5), and Marta Lukijaniuk in 30th place (15:32.0).
Scoring runners for the Triton men were Innocent Murwanashyaka in 8th place (18:41.3), Jhordan Ccope in 13th place (18:56.1), Milos Pendic in 14th place (18:58.6), Ezekiel Kipchirchir in 18th place (19:01.1), and Awet Yohannes in 29th place (19:22.1).
