The Iowa Central Cross Country teams traveled to Fayetteville, Arkansas to compete in the University of Arkansas's 30th annual Chile Pepper Festival. 52 teams took part in the 5K and 8K races hosted at Agri Park.
The Triton Women finished 3rd in the 52 team field with freshman Winrose Chesang leading the Tritons with a 16th place finish (14pts - 17:57.1). Florance Uwajeneza's 28th place finish (25pts - 18:05.0), Lillian Busienei's 35th place finish (31pts - 18:13.8), Marion Bartilol's 53rd place finish (48pts - 18:30.0), and Abeba Sullivan's 62nd place finish (57pts - 18:39.5) rounded out the top 5 finishers for the Tritons, giving them a score of 175 points. Host Arkansas finished 1st with 34 points, and Wichita State finished 2nd with 116 points.

The Triton Men finished 2nd in the 52 team field with sophomore Jhordan Ccope's 14th place finish (11pts - 24:48.6) leading the way. Ezekiel Kipchirchir's 21st place finish (16pts - 25:05.1), Innocent Murwanashyaka's 22nd place finish (17pts - 25:05.7), Awet Yohannes's 30th place finish (25pts - 25:24.7), and Milos Pendic's 64th place finish (56pts - 25:56.7) rounded out the top 5 finishers for Iowa Central, giving them a score of 125 points. Host Arkansas finished 1st with 38 points, and Dallas Baptist finished 3rd with 163 points.
The Tritons return to action next Saturday at the University of Minnesota's Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis.
