NEW ORLEANS – Postseason awards for the 2018 NJCAA Division I Cross Country season were released on Tuesday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), following the conclusion of the 2018 NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships, which were held this past weekend in Garden City, Kansas.

Central Arizona's men and Iowa Central's women stood on top of the podium once the dust settled. Andrew Kibet of Hutchinson (Kan.) won the men's individual title, while Everlyn Kemboi of El Paso CC won the women's individual title.

NATIONAL WOMEN'S COACH OF THE YEAR
Dee Brown – Iowa Central CC
Brown, in his 15th year as head coach, led the Tritons to the team title at the NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships. Iowa Central cruised to victory as it scored just 45 points and put three runners in the top-6 and five in the top-20. The Tritons fared well against a tough schedule throughout the season as they also competed at the Chile Pepper Festival, the Roy Griak Invitational and the Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitational, among others.
USTFCCCA ALL-AMERICA
The top 15 finishers at the NJCAA Division I Championships were named USTFCCCA All-America for the 2018 cross country season.

MEN'S ATHLETES OF THE YEAR
MIDWEST REGION — Ezekiel Kipchirchir — Iowa Central CC
Kipchirchir, a sophomore from Kenya, won the Region XI individual title in a record time of 24:16.1. This was Kipchirchir's second individual title of the season, as he also won at the Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitational in mid-October.
WOMEN'S ATHLETE OF THE YEAR
MIDWEST REGION — Abeba Sullivan — Iowa Central CC
Sullivan, a sophomore from Saukville, Iowa, won the Region XI title in 18:38.1. That was Sullivan's third individual title of the season as she also captured top honors at the Region XI Time Trial in late August and the All-American Invitational in early September.
MEN'S COACH OF THE YEAR
MIDWEST REGION — Dee Brown — Iowa Central CC
Brown, in his 15th year as head coach, led the Tritons to the team title at the Region XI Championships. Iowa Central scored 20 points as the team put all seven runners in the top-15, led by five in the top-10.
