CEDAR RAPIDS - The Iowa Central cross country program was in action for a second consecutive day, running at The Seminole Valley Stampede.

The event serves as a preview for the NAIA national meet.

Rosalie Fish ran a lifetime best time in her race, placing third overall in 18:03. Eleonora Curtabbi was the runner-up to lead the Tritons, finishing in 17:41.

In the men's race, Iowa Central finished second overall as Pur Biel was the runner-up in 24:53 and Kelvin Bungei finished third in 25:02.

"This was the biggest and most competitive meet we have been in all year with 25 complete scoring teams in attendance," Iowa Central Director of Cross Country Dee Brown said. "Many high ranked NAIA programs as well. It was exciting to be in a big meet and see the majority of our athletes placing among the top 25 overall in a race of over 200 athletes. We are mentally and physically prepared for our championship season. Time to rest up."
