Owen King Joins Triton Men's Basketball Staff
Owen King will join the Iowa Central Men's Basketball staff as the lead assistant coach. King comes to Iowa Central after spending the 2024-25 season as an assistant at NCAA DII Winona State University. This past season King helped the Warriors reach the NCAA DII National Tournament and advance to the round of 32. The Warriors reached the NCAA tournament for the first time since the 2013-14 season.
"I am thrilled to add Owen to the Triton family. He will add tremendous value to our program, from on the floor working with our student-athletes to building great relationships off the floor," Denholm said. "I am looking forward to him joining us and continuing to build and develop the men's basketball program."
King had an impressive playing career at both the NCAA DI and DII levels. King started his career at South Dakota State where he finished his freshman year second on the team in assists. King transferred to Winona State for his final three years of eligibility. King started every game he played over the course of three seasons; he led the team in steals his senior season and finished second in the nation in assist to turnover ratio.
"I am excited to join Coach Denholm's staff and the Triton family," King said. "I am looking forward to building on the success of the program and the development of the current and future young men in the men's basketball program."
