Iowa Central Names Lacee McLaren New Assistant Athletic Director

Lacee McLaren has been named Assistant Athletic Director for Triton Athletics starting July 1, 2025.

"We're excited about the hiring of Lacee McLaren as our Assistant Athletic Director," said Athletic Director, Kevin Twait. "I applaud our administration and Board of Trustees for having the foresight to create a full-time Assistant Athletic Director position. With over 30 athletic programs (and Women's Rugby starting in August 2026) this position will be a tremendous asset to our athletic department. From the day-to-day operations of our department (compliance, eligibility, staffing, budgets, team travel, event management, and fundraising) there are always multiple moving parts. This position will be a great benefit to our coaches and will have a positive effect on the student-athlete experience at Iowa Central.

McLaren started at Iowa Central in 2010 as an Assistant Volleyball Coach and the Assistant Coordinator of Student Activities before transitioning to her current position as the Assistant Bookstore Manager. Prior to Iowa Central, McLaren was an Executive Team Leader for Target in Waterloo, IA. She is a graduate of Iowa Falls High School and holds an AA Degree from Ellsworth Community College, where she also played two years of NJCAA volleyball, and a BA Degree in Communication Studies from the University of Northern Iowa. McLaren is married to her husband, Donald, and they have two daughters, Haylee (11) and Kynlee (9).

"We are fortunate to have secured the services of Lacee McLaren to transition into this role. She has displayed the skill set needed to be successful in this position," said Twait. "Lacee is highly organized, is a wonderful communicator, and has displayed the work ethic needed to be successful in her new role. She bleeds "Triton Blue" and will be a tremendous asset to Athletic Director, Guy Horn, and the entire Triton athletic department."

A love of athletics led McLaren's desire to transfer to the new position. "I am excited for the opportunity to serve as the Assistant Athletic Director at Iowa Central. My commitment to the college, the students we serve, and my love for athletics have been the driving force in taking on this new role," said McLaren. "Getting to work alongside our student athletes, coaches, and administrators to continue the growth and success of Iowa Central athletics is an absolute honor. I feel very fortunate to have found a home in Iowa Central when I moved to Fort Dodge 15 years ago and being able to contribute in this capacity, doing something I am passionate about, truly feels like a dream."
