Josh Kirchhoff started off the 2024 Spring hot on the mound. Kirchhoff came into the game in the fourth inning with one out and Iowa Central holding on to a one-run lead against Dakota County (Minn.).

Kirchhoff would throw the next three and two-thirds innings -- not allowing a run. In his work, he allowed just one hit and punched out seven batters and didn't allow a base on balls. Kirchhoff recorded the win and started his season 1-0.

The Tritons played their first home game on February 8 last week -- undoubtedly the earliest game ever played outdoors in Fort Dodge.
