Triton Baseball Opens World Series Play With 15-1 Victory

Nearly 15 years to the day that the Tritons defeated Vincennes University in the opening round of the 2010 NJCAA DII World Series, the 2025 Tritons had no trouble in their opening round matchup with Frederick on Saturday (4/24) night at historic David Allen Memorial Ballpark in Enid, Oklahoma.

Led by a 4-hit gem from Ryan Ohm (8-2) on the mound and homeruns from Bryson Carpenter and Spencer Pederson, the #9-seed Tritons powered past the #8-seed with a 15-1 victory in 5-innings.

"Top to bottom, we were really good. We had good at-bats up and down the lineup," said Triton Head Coach, Eric Stein. "Ryan had his whole arsenal working. That's a good first win for us to get things started."

Striking out five and only giving up four hits, Ohm controlled the game on the way to his 8th win of the season.

"It's exciting to be here," said Ohm, "I felt good. I was never under too much pressure with the run support that the offense gave me."

Carpenter got the Triton offense going early with a long solo shot in the top of the first before the Tritons would score seven runs in the third to break the game open. He would finish 2-3 with 3 RBI. Pederson added 4 RBI with a homerun and Cooper Nicholson (2), Chayton Fischer, Sawyer Stein, Isaiah Scott, Luke Bohonek, and Cade Sears all had RBI in the win.

Up next for the Tritons is a matchup with #1-seed, Pasco-Hernando State on Sunday (4/25). First pitch is scheduled for 4:00 PM.
