A clash of Top-15 teams has been named the ICCAC/KJCCC Game of the Week as No. 14 Iowa Central visits El Dorado, Kansas to take on 10th-ranked Butler Saturday night, August 23.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. from BG Products Veterans Stadium. There is a 40-percent chance of rain with winds ranging from 10-to-15 miles per hour and a high of 81 degrees expected at kickoff.
Ranked in the preseason poll for the first time since 2012, the Tritons are coming off an 8-4 season in which they won six in a row, highlighted by a victory in the Graphic Edge Bowl.
Second-year head coach Jesse Montalto has shaped the roster once more, bringing in several freshman standouts to blend with FBS and FCS transfers.
Sophomores Jatoviay Hill, Rashad Witty and DaQuan Cross highlight the returning players for the Tritons. Hill ran for 344 yards and scored four touchdowns a year ago, Witty had 57 receptions for 676 yards and six scores, and Cross made 77 total tackles with 6.5 sacks.
The Grizzlies have sophomore running back Grahm Roberts back after he ran for 385 yards and scored five touchdowns. Quillan Felton and Charlie Gray anchor the defense.
Names to keep an eye on from both teams include Eastern Kentucky quarterback DJ Irons, who will get the start for Iowa Central, and Florida Atlantic transfer Steven Frank, who took a medical redshirt last year at Butler.
Both the Tritons and Grizzlies were picked to finish second in their respective conferences behind No. 2 Iowa Western (ICCAC) and fifth-ranked Hutchinson (KJCCC).
