Triton Men's Basketball Ready for Region 11 Tournament Play
Finishing their regular season this week with an impressive 96-77 victory over Iowa Lakes on Sophomore Day at Hodges and an 81-74 win over NIACC on the road, the #11 ranked Tritons end the year with a 23-6 record and a 2nd place finish in the final ICCAC conference standings.

The Tritons head into the Region 11 Tournament as the #2 seed and host NIACC on Saturday (2/28) at Hodges Fieldhouse. The Tritons split with NIACC in their regular season meetings, falling 104-99 in OT at Hodges and winning 81-74 in Mason City.

"It's a great accomplishment to finish the season at 23-6 and have the #2 seed heading into tournament play," said Triton Head Coach, Mason Denholm. "Now that we're heading into postseason play, we get a rematch with NIACC on Saturday and it will be a challenge to play them again with such a quick turnaround."

The Tritons finish the regular season leading the conference in scoring with a 92.1 ppg average. Jordan Cain is leading the way for the Tritons, averaging 18.3ppg, fourth in the conference. CJ Mitchell leads the conference in assists with 161 and Aleix Sempere is leading the conference in rebounds per game with 10.2. Jalen Wynter leads the league in made 3's on the year with 86.

"Our focus going into postseason play is to take it one game at a time and not worry about what could be next," said Denholm. "We've got to win first on Saturday and then we'll turn on our focus to whatever is next. We're excited for Saturday afternoon in Hodges and hope to get a great crowd to show support for our team."

Tip for Saturday afternoon's semi-final matchup is 3:30 PM. The winner advances to the championship game of the Region 11-B Tournament on Tuesday (3/3) at the higher-seed for a spot in the North Central-B District Championship game and a bid to the NJCAA National Tournament.
