Wiegand honored as All-American

Raymond Wiegand helped the Iowa Central bowling program reach new heights during his time.

Now, Wiegand is leaving his own mark.

The Marshalltown native was named to the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association All-America team, making the honorable mention list. Wiegand is the first-ever Triton to be named to the team.

"I am almost speechless to make this list," Wiegand said. "This is an elite list of bowlers and only 20 of so many. Thank you to everyone who believed in me this season."

Wiegand was the only junior college bowler to make the list. He had an average of 210 on the year, placing fifth overall at the NJCAA Championships to earn All-American honors.

The award is voted on by member coaches of the NCBCA from all collegiate bowling schools from all levels of play including NAIA, club, varsity non-affiliated and NJCAA.
