Kris Graewin, a native of Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, has been the driving force behind the Iowa Central Community College golf programs since taking over as Head Coach in June 2018. A former standout at Viterbo University — where he was a three-year captain and earned first-team All–North Star Athletic Association honors — Graewin has transformed the Triton golf teams into consistent regional contenders and national competitors.
Under his leadership, the program has reached historic heights. In 2025, the Iowa Central women’s golf team recorded its highest team finish ever at the NJCAA Division II National Championships, placing third overall. That same year, Triton standout Ivanna Becerra-Diaz made program history by becoming the first-ever NJCAA Division II women’s golf national champion — a landmark achievement for the school and a defining moment for the program.
This milestone built on earlier success; in 2021, Graewin led the Triton men to the best national finish in program history, placing fourth at the NJCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship. That season also produced multiple All-Americans, and Graewin was named the 2021 ICCAC Division II Men’s Golf Coach of the Year.
Graewin’s philosophy centers on building confident, competitive golfers who excel both on the course and in the classroom. He emphasizes individualized development, strategic preparation, and a team culture rooted in accountability and pride. His teams routinely compete at the top of conference standings and vie for regional and national recognition.
Graewin holds a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and Leadership from Viterbo University (2016), and gained early collegiate experience in athletics administration and coaching during internships and assistant roles before arriving at Iowa Central.
