Alex Fonseca enters his 1st season as an assistant coach with the Iowa Central Men’s soccer team.

He was born in Brazil and moved to the United States, where he attended and played at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa. He started playing soccer in Brazil at the age of four and continued to play after he arrived in the U.S. Raised in Brazil, Fonseca played most of his career for Red Bull Bragantino (former Clube Atletico Bragantino) where he played with many Brazilians former professional soccer players including National team players. While in the U.S and after college he played at PDL and USL levels.

Fonseca received a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education. He also has his USSF “B” License, USSF National Youth License, NSCAA National License, NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma, NSCAA High School Diploma as well Physical Fitness Specialist Certification by Cooper Institute.

Fonseca lives in Fort Dodge and has two children, Vitoria Fonseca and Mario Fonseca.
