Iowa Central sprinter and jumper Waukeem Walters had a great outing at the Jack Johnson Classic this past weekend. Walters participated in two events, the 300 Meters and the Long Jump. In the 300 Meters he posted a personal best and school record with a time of 34.85 – good for second place. In the Long Jump Walters leapt to the No. 1 mark in the NJCAA and a meet record of 7.56 meters (24' 9 3/4"). He leads the next closest jump by nearly five inches. Iowa Central has two meets scheduled this week – one in Lincoln, Neb. (Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational) and another in Mankato, Minn. (Ted Nelson Classic).
