MARSHALLTOWN - The 14th-ranked Iowa Central softball team showed just how dominant their offense can be, completing a four-game weekend sweep of Marshalltown here on Sunday.
Scores were 10-2 in six innings and 12-7 as the Tritons (10-8 overall, 4-0 in ICCAC) have won six of their last eight overall.
In the opener, Kenzie Rosenboom and Rachel Newell each drove in three runs with Abbie Thilges adding a triple. Rosenboom had three hits and Thilges two.
In the circle, Madison Huisman struck out five in five innings with Mikhaela Muir pitching the sixth. The Triton defense committed no errors in the game.
Loghen Schnetzer remained hot at the plate, hitting two homers and driving in four in the nightcap. Ally Stewart and Carlie Thompson each had three hits in support of Kayla Wookey in the circle.
Wookey struck out four over four innings with Emily English finishing things off.
Iowa Central heads to Mason City to face North Iowa Area on Wednesday with the Trojans visiting Rogers Park Thursday for the home opener.
