National Accolades for Triton Softball's Kaylee Cary
Following a season of incredible plays in the field, Triton Softball shortstop, Kaylee Cary, has been recognized with one of the nation's top awards.
Cary has been named a 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Rawlings Gold Glove Award winner, presented by the NFCA. The award recognizes nine student-athletes from each of the NJCAA Division I, II and III memberships. She was also recognized as the ICCAC Conference Defensive Player of the Year.
"Kaylee had a goal at the start of the year and worked to achieve it at every single practice. Diving for every ball. Always giving her all," said Triton Softball Head Coach, Bo Tjebben. "No one is harder on Kaylee than Kaylee. She always wants to get better and is so talented. As coaches we simply did our best to provide her the support she needed to grow and build confidence. To help her believe in herself as much as we believed in her."
A testament to her reliability, athleticism, and leadership on the field, Cary had a .963 fielding percentage tallying 100 assists and just seven errors. She also recorded 80 putouts.
"For Kaylee to have been awarded the NJCAA Golden Glove Award and the Defensive Player of the Year Award in our tough conference is simply phenomenal," said Tjebben. It was truly an honor to watch her soar and grow into the player she is today."
