Autumn Dykstra and the Iowa Central women have found their rhythm as of late, reeling off three straight wins ahead of a showdown with Northeast on Wednesday night.
The Tritons climbed back to .500 on the year at 7-7 with five games remaining on the slate.
Dykstra, a former Maquoketa High School standout, is averaging seven points, 3.3 rebounds, nearly two steals and an assist per game as a freshman. She has scored in double figures three times, including each of the past two games.
"I think we work well together because we come focused to practice every day," Dykstra said.
During their three-game win streak, the Tritons have scored at least 76 points and won all three games by double figures. They have shot over 50 percent as a team in two of three wins and made a combined 17 three-pointers.
As a senior at Maquoketa, Dykstra posted 317 points on 46 percent shooting from the field and over 40 percent from the 3-point line, making 44 triples with 68 rebounds, 30 assists and 25 steals.
"The transition (from high school to college) wasn't that bad besides the shot clock," Dykstra said. "But even then it wasn't that bad because in high school our coach liked to play a fast-paced game.
"After finding my groove in the game it has been a blast."
Dykstra hit a career-high four triples in a win over Southwestern. She has recorded nine rebounds in two games and had four steals in a victory vs. North Iowa Area back in February, and has a steal or an assist in all but one game.
