Bonus points and a forfeit forced Luke Moffitt to try his best and overcome Indian Hills here Wednesday night.
In the end, it was too much, as the sixth-ranked Iowa Central wrestling team to the No. 20 Warriors, 27-15.
Jorden Pryor, Phil Smith Jr. and Keaton Geerts picked up victories for the Tritons on the night. Pryor earned a fall at heavyweight with Smith winning by major decision and Geerts a technical fall.
"We've just got to keep working and pushing," Moffitt said. "It's tough because we had to give up 141 and move kids to different weights to try and make up for that forfeit. I know it isn't always fun to wrestle up and it's a big challenge, so hopefully we can put a lineup together here quick and see what we have."
Pryor, ranked fifth, quickly put Caleb Collins on his back, earning a first period fall. Smith notched a reversal at the buzzer of the third period to record bonus points with Geerts dominating his opponent at 165. Both are ranked sixth at their respective weights.
"We've just got to keep battling," Moffitt said. "But we have to get after it in matches."
The Tritons return to action next Wednesday when they take on No. 9 North Iowa Area in Mason City.
