Triton Track & Field Shines at Cyclone Open
The Tritons competed at the Cyclone Open on Friday, January 23rd in Ames, IA. The meet hosted by Iowa State University had a mixture of teams from all levels across the state.

Coaches Corner
"Our mid and distance athletes really shined this past weekend with four athletes running nation-leading marks in their events. That is incredible because we have four additional marks already posted this season that are still leading the NJCAA. Taha Ouchene (800m), Soufyane Laaziz (1 mile), Abbigail Hutchinson (1 mile), and Chakib Cherkaoui Rhazouani (3km) all ran outstanding times in Ames. Taha was most impressive because he broke the school record and ran the fastest time of the day all by himself out of a slower heat. These athletes are fit and ready to shine this season." - Director of XC/TF, Dee Brown

"Another school record, multiple national leading marks and even more national qualifiers. You know it's a good weekend when as a coaching staff we can't even decide who to nominate for national Athlete of the Week because we have so many great candidates! This weekend we'll be sending a group to Washburn University, which is where our national meet will be held. It will be great for them to race against some of the best runners in the nation on a banked track. The other group will be going to Mankato to run on one of the best NCAA DII tracks in the upper Midwest, against one of the best DII programs in the nation. We are very fortunate that we have been able to get into so many meets in great facilities and get to compete against some of the best athletes." – Head Track and Field Coach, Anne Cleary
