Iowa Central moves up five spots to No. 13 in nation

Tritons ranked in NJCAA preseason Top-20

On the heels of a 6-1 start to the season, the Iowa Central volleyball team was rewarded with an improvement in their NJCAA Div. II ranking.

The Tritons climbed five spots to No. 13 in the nation. The lone loss to date came at the hands of No. 3 Johnson County. 

Parkland remains No. 1, receiving all seven first place votes. Coffeyville is second followed by Johnson County, Highland the Glendale. 

Some leaders for the Tritons through seven matches include Kealey Anderson and Amaya Finley. Anderson, a freshman, has 97 kills, with Finley, a sophomore, right behind with 92. Katie Godfredsen leads the team with 165 assists and Hannah Huss has 74 digs. 

Iowa Central has scored four consecutive wins since that loss, topping College of St. Mary JV, Marshalltown, Briar Cliff JV and Dakota County. They return to the floor on Wednesday, September 4 hosting ICCAC rival Ellsworth at 7 p.m. inside Hodges Fieldhouse.
