No. 2 Tritons sweep Southeast on road

BEATRICE, Neb. - Second-ranked Iowa Central had no trouble here Friday night, sweeping Southeast.

Scores were 25-15, 25-9 and 25-15.

Katilyn Steffes had 17 kills and 12 digs as the Tritons improved to 37-1 overall on the year. The win was the 27th three-set sweep of the season for Iowa Central.

Brooke Dobson added nine kills, Haley Alharithy had seven and Angel Baylark six. Jori Hajek recorded 13 digs with Bailey Dugan adding 12 and Baylyn Johnson 11.

Alesha Johnson had 38 assists, five digs, three serving aces and two block assists.

"We wanted to get a match in this weekend so we could work on some specific things and stay sharp going into regionals week," Iowa Central head coach Sara Horn said. "I thought the girls did a great job of staying really clean and disciplined. They made some good goals before the match and stayed conscious of what they were working on.

"Our offense was definitely firing on all cylinders and Alesha did a great job of getting everyone involved. All 16 players who traveled got into the match and it was great to see our level of play stay high and everyone contribute."

Iowa Central will conclude the regular season on Wednesday in Mason City at North Iowa Area. A win will secure a fourth consecutive outright league title for the Tritons.
