More All-America honors for Johnson, Baylark

Alesha Johnson and Angel Baylark added two more All-America honors to their resumes as Iowa Central volleyball players.

Johnson, who was tabbed to the NJCAA first team earlier this year, was selected to the American Volleyball Coaches Association second team as an All-American. Baylark, who made the NJCAA second team was named to the third team by the AVCA.

These teams are comprised of all two-year players from Div. I, Div. II, Div. III, the NWAC and the CCCAA. Forty-two total players were named to the teams.

Johnson, who recently committed to Grand View University to continue her career, is the first Triton player to be named by the AVCA twice, as she also made the third team in 2020. Other AVCA All-America players are Kealey Anderson, Gabby Sullivan and Alicia Moreno.

Katilyn Steffes also named the NJCAA All-America third team and Haley Alharithy was honored by VolleyballMag.com as an All-American.

Iowa Central claimed the ICCAC Div. II title and placed fourth at nationals in the fall. They were third during the spring season at nationals.
