Sampson Named ICCAC Player of the Week

Freshman outside hitter Talya Sampson had a nice end to the regular season last week. The Tritons went 2-0 with wins over Iowa Lakes in the conference finale, and a win over Division I Iowa Western. Sampson had 10 kills against Iowa Western and seven against Iowa Lakes, giving her 17 total and 2.83 per set during six sets played. She added 13 digs and four blocks for the week. This season Sampson is averaging 2.49 kills per set and 1.34 digs per set in 33 matches. Iowa Central faces Western Iowa Tech in the first round of the Region 11 Tournament on Wednesday.
