Iowa Central's Lilia Alvarez and Pur Biel have been named ICCAC Cross Country Athletes of the Week.

In the last meet before the ICCAC Regional Championships, Iowa Central finished ninth overall in the Mustang Jamboree hosted by Mount Mercy University. Alvarez finished seventh individually running a time of 19:35.98.

Alvarez finished five seconds behind eighth place. 

The Iowa Central men's team won the Mustang Jamboree this past weekend running a team average time of 26:24. Biel was the top finisher on the Tritons running a time of 25:11.01.

It was a narrow victory nonetheless finishing two seconds ahead of the runner-up. Biel ran just over a five-minute average mile.
