His duties at William Penn also included recruiting, eligibility as well as coordinating travel arrangements.

William Penn won the 2013 Midwest Collegiate Conference title in 2013 and Wells helped guide a pitching staff that was the catalyst. The Statesmen’s pitching staff was among national leaders in earned run average and led the NAIA for two weeks during the season. In 2014, William Penn amassed a 3.24 staff ERA and tallied 233 strike outs against just 93 walks.

As a player, Wells enjoyed a very successful high school career at Clinton High School where he earned All-District, All-Conference and All-Area honors as a middle infielder. He continued his career at Central Methodist, an NAIA program in Fayette, Mo. Before graduating from Central Missouri in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics in 2009.

Wells is the Head Varsity Reserve Coach and is in charge of the Tritons’ strength and conditioning program.
