A slow start hurt Iowa Central in their conference opener as the fell to Kirkwood on Saturday by a score of 84-62. Kirkwood opened the game on a 15-0 run and the Tritons could never recover as they fell to start the conference season. "Obviously we got off to a bad start and against a good team like Kirkwood, you can't do that. We were getting good looks at the basket, but nothing was falling." Said Dennis Pilcher, head coach of Iowa Central. Freshman Dallas Bailey and Royshawn Webb did their part as the duo scored 48 of Iowa Central's 62 points. "I thought Dallas and Royshawn really battled all day and played well. Dallas got off to a slow start in the first half, but in the second half he was playing good basketball. Royshawn has been pretty consistent all year for us and he continues to do that," said Pilcher. "Now we just need some other guys to step up as well."
