Record Breaking Week Leads to Athlete of the Week Honors for Mitchell

CJ Mitchell – Iowa Central – Sophomore – Point Guard
Iowa Central point guard CJ Mitchell was a record-setter this past week for the Tritons. Mitchell broke the school record for assists in an 81-74 win over NIACC. He leads the ICCAC in assists with 169, with second place sitting at 151. In that same game, Mitchell scored 16 points, grabbed two rebounds and had three steals. In the Tritons' first playoff game, they took care of business against NIACC once again with a 101-61 victory. Mitchell recorded 16 points, six rebounds and dished eight assists as the Tritons moved on to the Region 11-B championship game.
