Entering his 4th season with the Iowa Central Track and field program as an assistant, Anderson leads the Men’s and Women’s hurdles along with Men’s and Women’s sprints groups. In his tenure at Iowa Central the Jacksonville, FL native has helped the men’s program to consecutive indoor national titles (2019 and 2020) while also helping the women to four top three finishes between indoor and outdoor track and field in the same time frame. In 2018 Coach Anderson was voted the Midwest Region USTFCCCA Men’s Outdoor Assistant Coach of the Year. Then in 2019, Anderson was named the USTFCCCA Midwest Region Men’s Outdoor Assistant Coach of the Year.
Anderson has accumulated 13 All-Americans on the men’s side. His athletes have earned 13 top three national meet finishes including two National Champions. On the women’s side, he has coached six All-American’s including two national runner-up finishes and a National Champion. Anderson has also led his group to six school records including the top five men’s indoor 200m sprint performances in school history.
Anderson is a graduate of Texas Southern University where he was an All SWAC Performer numerous times and NCAA Qualifier. Prior to competing at TSU, he spent his first two years competing as a Junior College athlete himself with Barton Community College. Anderson began his coaching career with a short stint at Coffeyville Community College before leaving for Fort Dodge.
In addition to his coaching duties, he also works as a housing coordinator on campus.
